Fontana High School is one of six member schools that comprise the
Citrus Belt League.  With some exceptions, the CBL schools compete in the California Interscholastic Southern Section Large Schools Division I.

Fontana fields teams in 20 boys', girls', and co-educational sports on two to three different levels. (Varsity, Junior Varsity, & Frosh)

To participate on a team each student is required to maintain a 2.0 grade point average.  To help our students make the academic grades necessary; we have the Triple A program.  The AAA (Academic Accountability for Athletes) is run by a member of our school staff.  This staff member is responsible for tracking grades, parent contact, tutoring, and student, teacher, parent liaison.

The school year is divided into three seasons, fall, winter, and spring.  The fall season begins in August and ends in November.  It consists of Boys' & Girls' JV & Varsity Cross-Country, Frosh, JV, and Varsity Football, Varsity & JV Girls' Tennis, Frosh, JV, & Varsity Volleyball as well as Varsity & JV Boys' Water Polo.

Next comes the winter season starting in November and ending in February.  Winter sports are: Girls & Boys' Frosh, JV, and Varsity Basketball, Girls & Boys' JV & Varsity Soccer, Girls' Varsity & JV Water Polo, and Coed Varsity & JV Wrestling.

Finally we come to the spring season.  The spring sports are: 3 levels in Girls'Softball and Boys'Baseball, two levels in Coed Golf, two levels of Boys' & Girls' Swimming, two levels of Boys' Tennis, as well as Boys' & Girls' Track & Field.

Tryout dates vary from sport to sport.  Students interested in participating in any sport should contract the coach or athletic office.
