In a season that produced many firsts for the Kaiser High School Boys Soccer
Team, the final achievement of 2005 came not on the field but in the classroom.
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) recognized the team for Academic
Achievement for attaining an overall GPA of 3.007 in core academic courses.
The Kaiser Cats also qualified for CIF Playoffs for the first time in school
history.
Two players who lead the way both on the field and in the classroom were
sophomores Kyle Yip and Eddie Ortiz. Kyle, with an overall GPA of 4.0,
also made 1st team All Sunkist League, while Eddie, also with a 4.0 GPA, scored
Kaiser's first ever goal in a CIF game.
