On March 17, 2004, the Groundbreaking Ceremony was held for Fontana Unified School District's high school #4, Summit High School.  The ceremony was attended by Fontana Unified School District Board Members, district and county administration, as well as local government representatives.  Also in attendance were representatives from HMC Architects, architect of Summit High School, and Edge Development, Inc. and Modtech, Inc., the contractors.

The school, being built on a 44 acre site, is located on the corner of Summit Avenue and Lytle Creek Road.  It was designed to accommodate 2500 students in its 114 classrooms.  Summit High School is scheduled to open in Fall of 2005.
