On March 17, 2004, the Groundbreaking Ceremony was held
for Fontana Unified School District's high school #4, Summit High School. The
ceremony was attended by Fontana Unified
School District Board Members, district and county administration, as well as
local government representatives. Also in attendance were representatives from
HMC Architects, architect of Summit High School, and Edge Development, Inc. and
Modtech, Inc., the contractors.
The school, being built on a 44 acre site, is located on
the corner of Summit Avenue and Lytle Creek Road. It was designed to
accommodate 2500 students in its 114 classrooms. Summit High School is scheduled to open in Fall of
2005.
