Description
Almeria Middle School is one of eight middle schools in the Fontana Unified
School District. Over the past few years the student population in the district
has changed rapidly. Almeria currently has a population of approximately
1617 students in grades 6-8. The students
come from diverse backgrounds, including 73.9% Hispanic, 12.5% African-American,
10.6% White/Non-Hispanic,1.2% Filipino, and 1.8% Other ethnic backgrounds.
The Mission of the school as adopted by the entire team
(teachers, administrators, classified, students and parents) is: Learn
today for success tomorrow.Our School slogan is: "Oceans Above the Rest."
Our Performance slogan is: "Striving to be the 21st Century School Today."
In its effort to achieve this Mission, the
school works closely with several community groups; the Fontana Teachers Association, The City of Fontana
through Parks and Recreations, and the Fontana Police Department.
