A Message From Our Principal
One of our greatest assets is our dedicated, conscientious and caring staff,
both certificated and classified. All staff members work collaboratively to help
all students reach success. Sequoia Middle School has been a Distinguished School since 1990. Our
school provides programs that meet all the academic needs of our diverse student population.
- Our exceptional teachers motivate our students with a challenging and exciting curriculum designed to invigorate the learning process.
- We are the only middle school in our district to have a G.A.T.E. Magnet Program which has a challenging full day schedule. Students from around the district attend advanced classes in all
academic subjects, music, art, drama and leadership.
- Our dedicated & knowledgeable teachers have lead our G.A.T.E. students to local, state and/or
national recognition in History, Math, Science and Art.
- The Chorus, Orchestra and Band include students from the G.A.T.E., Regular and Special Education classes. The
number of awards and trophies received by these groups are but a testimony of this outstanding program.
- Our English Language Development Program is conducted
by a caring and conscientious staff. The students work in all
areas of the curriculum, in their primary language, sheltered English,
English proficiency and mainstream settings.
- Based on individual students needs, our Sequoia Special Education Department provides
services in small class settings, individualized instruction and/or support to students mainstreamed into regular classes.
At Sequoia Middle School we
are proud of our accomplishments and constantly strive to improve the quality of our programs to ensure equal access and to provide a well rounded education for all students.
