Almond Elementary School opened for the 2003-04 school year.
We have made a commitment to sustain an enriching, nurturing, and productive
environment where all students excel. Our dedicated, enthusiastic staff provides
an instructional program based on high expectations for academic performance. We
strive to maintain a safe campus that promotes personal responsibility for
student behavior and mutual respect among all members of our learning community.
Parent involvement is important at Almond Elementary. We invite and encourage parents to become active
members of our learning community. We welcome volunteers to assist with
classroom or school activities or to serve as members of our parent committees
or organizations on campus.We look forward to the
academic, social, and personal growth of our students and to the continued
development of our learning community.

Almond
Elementary School is one of twenty-nine elementary schools in the Fontana
Unified School District. It is a single-track, year-round school with a student
population of approximately 720 students in preschool through grade six.
The Almond student population is a rich mixture of
83.2% Hispanic, 7.3% Caucasian, 5.4% African-American, 1.6% Asian, 1.3%
Multiple or no response, and 1.2% Other ethnic backgrounds.
The core classroom instruction for Language Arts and Mathematics focuses on the
State of California Standards using the FUSD Standards-Based Curriculum. Almond
Elementary School has the benefit of the Special Services available at other
elementary schools. Some of these services include a Speech and Language
Specialist, a Resource Specialist, and an Adaptive Physical Education
Specialist. Other school features and/or programs include a library, a computer
lab, a Title I support teacher, English Language Development, Gifted and Talented
Education, State Preschool, Health Services, Instrumental Music, and the National Lunch Program.
