As part of the student’s whole education, Fontana Unified School District offers weekly general music instruction to all fourth and fifth grade classes by credentialed teachers.
The instruction is aligned with California State Standards in Music:
The California State approved textbooks for music instruction are Spotlight on Music, published by MacMillan/McGraw-Hill.
Beyond singing and playing instruments, students also receive standards-based instruction in dance and theatre, connected through the Orff-Schulwerk activities.
Learning units are being correlated to Open Court Reading, Fontana Unified’s State Adopted Language Arts textbook.
