FUSD Board of Education Approves VAPA Master Plan
We are pleased to announce that at their Board Meeting on January 23, 2008 the FUSD Board of Education approved the Visual And Performing Arts Master Plan.
VAPA Mission Statement
To educate every student in and through the arts.
VAPA Vision Statement
- To provide all K-12 students with a quality, rigorous, sequential, standards-based instruction in visual arts, music, dance and theater.
- To train staff adequately in effective teaching strategies so that all students are motivated to explore, create, collaborate, showcase and aesthetically value their achievements within the arts.
- To embed VAPA within K-5 instruction interdisciplinary and restore equity of services in middle school and high school course offerings.
- To create the infrastructure needed to provide standards-based curricula, instruction and methodology, student assessment, professional development, program administration, partnerships and collaborations, financial sustainability, materials and facilities; and program planning and evaluation.
