Canyon Crest Elementary School

Principal's Message

  • Welcome Back to the 24-25 School Year!

    Dear Canyon Crest Coyote Families,

On behalf of the staff at Canyon Crest Elementary School, I would like to welcome each one of you to the 2024-2025 school year! Please have your child arrive to school no later than 7:40 a.m.  School hours are from 7:45 to 2:20 for Grades K-5. We have a new Assistant Principal, Ms. Dickerson! Let’s give her a big Coyote welcome! She is here only half of the week as she is split between 2 schools.

At Canyon Crest, we are proud to be the Coyotes and a part of the PACK.  We want everyone to know what we stand for. We are a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) school, our school expectations are…

    Coyote actions and behaviors are…

    P- Positive

    A- Accountable

    C- Careful

    K- Kind

As we continue to put student safety as a priority, all students PK- 5 will enter through the main front door when they arrive for school.  We are all in this together, with the main focus being on your children. After all, we want the same thing; your child to succeed with a focus on academics and increased student learning.  The teachers have been collaborating to create interesting and exciting lessons that will be engaging for their students.  But, in order to have our students/your children succeed, we must work together.  The key will be to have open and consistent communication.

Therefore, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher either through email or by calling the school, (909) 357-5440.  We will be conducting various types of meetings that we’d like you to join, such as Coffee with the Principal, School Site Council (SSC) and the English Language Advisory Council (ELAC) just to name a few.

Some of your questions may also be answered by reading our Student Parent Handbook, which is located on the Canyon Crest website https://www.fusd.net/Domain/11 .

I am looking forward to a productive year, where we all work together in order to put kids first.  Keeping in mind that the students are my biggest priority, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time, as I am here for both you and your children.

Thank you in advance for your flexibility, openness to collaboration and positive attitudes!

    Respectfully,

    Mrs. Piddington, Principal
