A Message From Our Principal
Dear Hemlock Families,
I hope you are all healthy and safe during this challenging time. I want you to know that everyone at Hemlock misses our amazing students every day and we are thinking about all of you as we plan for distance learning. While schools are closed, please know we are fully committed to providing continued education for our students. Our goal is to transition slow and steady so we can minimize as much stress as possible on the part of our students, parents, and teachers.
For the week of March 30th-April 3rd, the Teaching and Learning Department has developed Learning Choice Boards by grade level. If you did not receive them by mail or misplaced them, you can access it through the Hemlock website under “Home Learning Opportunities.”
In addition, teachers will begin to reach out to students using Microsoft Teams. Directions for logging into Microsoft teams can be found on the Hemlock website under “Distance Learning Opportunites.” The password for Microsoft Teams is what students have been using in class. If your student does not remember the password they use during class, please call our Help Desk at (909) 357-7630 or email Mrs. Arena at Kelly.firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also encourage students to log in to their i-ready account in order to access their individualized learning pathway for ELA and Math. Log in information is also located on the Hemlock website under “Student Resources.” Your child’s teacher will be assigning lessons and providing feedback to your student through i-ready.
Your child’s classroom teacher will also be reaching out this week to check in and see if you are able to access online resources. Hemlock teachers will be contacting parents/guardians directly by email and phone this week, so you may have calls from unknown numbers.
Our distance learning will be up and running beginning April 6th. Teachers are testing out Microsoft Teams with your students this week and would love the chance to connect with them. Instructional resource packets for distance learning will be available for pick up at the district office, beginning April 6th from 8:00am-4:00pm and at Hemlock in front of the school.
Additional Home Learning Opportunities and Online Resources will be added to the FUSD webpage and Hemlock’s webpage as it becomes available.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to connecting with our families.
