Ms. Huizar was born in Duarte, California and grew-up in Azusa until middle school when her parents moved to Rialto. “Seventeen years later, my parents sold the Rialto home and moved back to Azusa into the home we were raised in which they never sold,” she said.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and a Masters of Arts degree in Education Administration, both from Cal State University, San Bernardino.

Ms. Huizar has served the Fontana Unified School District as an Assistant Principal at Cypress, Oleander, and Palmetto Elementary Schools since 2008 and has accepted this opportunity to lead an elementary as a site principal. Her prior experience covers elementary teaching with Riverside Unified School District and as a Literary Coach and English Learner Instructional Coach with Rialto Unified School District.

Ms. Huizar has been the Principal at Kathy Binks Elementary School since 2014.

Melanie Spreen

Ms. Spreen was born in Canada and immigrated to the United States in 2003.  She is now a proud citizen and has called Fontana her work home since arriving in 2003.

She has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and a Masters in Administration from Concordia University.

Ms. Spreen has served the students at Kathy Binks Elementary since 2017 as Assistant Principal.

Ms. Patty joined the Fontana Unified School District family in 2002.  She began as a Bilingual Aide.

Ms. Patty has worked at 2 schools in Fontana and has been at Kathy Binks Elementary since 2017.

Ms. Patty loves working with children saying it makes her happy!
