Linda Young

At the August 23rd meeting of the FUSD Board of Education, the Board approved Linda Young as the Interim Director of Certificated Human Resources.

Ms. Young was born and raised in Arizona, although she spent a year in Little Rock, Arkansas. She grew up in a family of educators, dating back to family members working in one-room school houses. "I am excited by the challenge of educating a diverse population of students because they are the ones who change our society," she said.

She attended Northern Arizona University where she majored in The American Chemical Society Certified Chemistry Degree program, with a liberal sprinkling of Forensic Science. "Since then I have earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction," she said.

During her 26 year career with the Fontana Unified School District, she has taught various levels of chemistry at Fontana, A.B. Miller and Kaiser High School. "I have spent a short time as the STEAM Teacher on Assignment and was coordinating the Advanced Placement Program for Kaiser High School before coming to the District Office," she continued. Ms. Young also served for 5 years as President of the Fontana Teachers Association (FTA).

"I am excited to be given this opportunity to work with the FUSD Team on behalf of the students, families and community of Fontana," said Ms. Young. Ms. Young was on the Lewis Library and Technology Center Planning Committee and helped make the dream of the library a reality for Fontana.
