Celebrations and Milestones

Dear Fontana Community,

With the passing of each year, a tradition of success continues at the Fontana Unified School District. We are thankful for every accomplishment and milestone achieved by our schools and take none of them for granted. Through it all, our schools thrive and continue to build upon their success as they pursue exciting new paths for innovation. Several of our schools are celebrating significant milestones this year.

  • Canyon Crest Elementary School recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with more than 200 current and former students, parents, and teachers participating in their festivities.
  • Fontana Adult School is celebrating their 60th anniversary on November 1 with an Open House from 6-8 pm. Please feel free stop by and help them celebrate 60 years of transforming lives through adult education.
  • West Randall Elementary School will celebrate their 70th anniversary with a Fall Festival on November 15, from 1:30-4:30 pm. They will be marking their milestone with a much-anticipated school-wide makeover.
  • Date Elementary School will celebrate their 20th anniversary with an evening reception on November 30 and a school wide rally on December 1.

As we head further into autumn, our middle schools will hold Parent/Teacher Conferences October 24-26 and elementary schools will hold Parent/Teacher Conferences the week of October 30-November 3. Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences is an important way to connect with your child’s teachers in support of student success.

I also want to remind everyone to Fall Back when Daylight Saving Time ends and we turn our clocks backward 1 hour on Sunday, November 5.

As we move forward, I am grateful for the commitment of our students, parents, teachers, support staff, community partners and board members. Together we will continue to plan and provide innovative educational programs and opportunities for our students.

Best Wishes,

Randal S. Bassett

Happy FUSD Student
