CTE Pathway Program at Fontana High School Open To All FUSD High School Students

A Fontana Unified administrator pilots a Cessna 172 in a Redbird flight simulator at A.B. Miller High School during the District’s annual Leadership Institute.

Certified Nursing Assistant (Periods 7 and 8):

The CNA program is a 2 course sequence offered during the 7th and 8th period block for any student in 11th or 12th grade (12th grade preferred). It is a yearlong program involving Nursing Assistant in the Fall semester AND Acute Nursing Assistant in the Spring semester. Students will take the State of California CNA exam in the Spring for Certification and Licensing. This class meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 2:45 PM to 5:00 PM, with Wednesdays from 1:15 PM to 3:30 PM.

Emergency Medical Technician (Periods 7 and 8)

The EMT program is a 2 course sequence offered during the 7th and 8th period block for any student in 9th - 12th grade. It is a yearlong program involving Emergency Medical Responder in the Fall semester AND Emergency Medical Technician in the Spring semester. Students that are taking the EMT class that will turn 18 by March 1, 2020 can take Emergency Medical Technician 411 with Chaffey College at the FOHI campus, a dual enrollment class leading to EMT certification and licensing. All students take EMR in the Fall, then choose from EMT Fundamentals or Chaffey EMT for the Spring. This class meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 2:45 PM to 5:00 PM, with Wednesdays from 1:15 PM to 3:30 PM.

Firefighting Academy (Saturdays)

The Firefighting Academy is a 4 course sequence (each course is 90 hours) offered during Saturdays at Fontana High School for any student in 9th - 12th grade. It is a yearlong program involving Emergency Services and Fire Prevention during the First semester AND Fire Behavior and Safety/Survival in the Second semester. This class meets Saturdays, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Law Enforcement Academy (Saturdays)

The Law Enforcement Academy is a 2 course sequence offered during Saturdays at Fontana High School for any Fontana Unified student in 9th - 12th grade. It is a yearlong program involving Law Enforcement during Semester 1 AND Advanced Law Enforcement in Semester 2. This class meets Saturdays, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
