Suicide Prevention: Reach Out. Speak Out. You Matter.

Fontana Unified School District is committed to the safety and well-being of every student. We believe mental health support is essential to removing barriers to learning and helping students thrive.

Suicide is now the second leading cause of death among youth ages 10–14, but it is preventable. Each of us has the power to notice, speak up, and connect others to help.

Through our Reach Out, Speak Out, You Matter campaign, we are building a culture where:

  • Students feel safe seeking support

  • Staff and families know how to respond when concerns arise

  • Mental health is recognized as foundational to academic success

Our campaign focuses on:

  • Increasing Awareness: Normalizing conversations around mental health and reducing stigma.

  • Promoting Help-Seeking: Encouraging students and families to access trusted adults and crisis resources early.

  • Strengthening School Connections: Reinforcing that every student is valued and belongs in FUSD.

Together, we can ensure every student feels seen, supported, and safe.
