Early Education Programs

FUSD provides a range of Early Education Programs tailored to meet each child’s individual needs. These programs focus on physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development and include:

  •  Transitional Kindergarten
  •  State Preschool
  •  Infant/Toddler Care

State Preschool

The California State Preschool Program (CSPP) offers free, part-day preschool education for eligible three- and four-year-old children at 25 elementary schools across Fontana.

2024-2025 Eligibility by Birthdate

The Fontana Unified School District offers several early learning programs for the 2024-2025 school year. Eligibility for each program is primarily determined by the child's birthdate. Below is a breakdown of the available programs and their respective birthdate ranges:

3-Year-Old Preschool Program (PS3):

  • Birthdate Range: September 2, 2020 – December 1, 2021
  • Note: Children who turn 3 on or after December 2, 2021, must wait until their 3rd birthday to begin.
  • Additional Requirement: Eligibility for the Subsidized Childcare Program is required.

4-Year-Old Pre-Kindergarten (PK4):

  • Birthdate Range: September 2, 2019 – September 1, 2020
  • Additional Requirement: Eligibility for the Subsidized Childcare Program is required.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK):

  • Birthdate Range: September 2, 2019 – June 2, 2020

Kindergarten:

  • Birthdate Range: September 2, 2018 – September 1, 2019
