Early Education Programs
FUSD provides a range of Early Education Programs tailored to meet each child’s individual needs. These programs focus on physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development and include:
- State Preschool
- 2-Year-Old Preschool Program (PS2)
- 3-Year-Old Preschool Program (PS3)
- 4-Year-Old Preschool Pre-kindergarten Program (PK4)
- Transitional Kindergarten
- 4-Year-Old Pre-kindergarten Program (TK)
State Preschool
The California State Preschool Program (CSPP) offers free, part-day preschool education for eligible two-three- and four-year-old children at 25 elementary schools across Fontana.
2025-2026 Eligibility by Birthdate
The Fontana Unified School District offers several early learning programs for the 2025-2026 school year. Eligibility for each program is primarily determined by the child's birthdate. Below is a breakdown of the available programs and their respective birthdate ranges:
2 Year Preschool Program (PS2):
- Birthdate Range: December 2, 2022 – August 6, 2023
- Note: Children who turn 2 on or after August 7, 2023, must wait until their 2nd birthday to begin.
- Additional Requirement: Eligibility for the Subsidized Childcare Program is required.
3-Year-Old Preschool Program (PS3):
- Birthdate Range: September 2, 2021 – December 1, 2022
- Note: Children who turn 3 on or after December 2, 2022, must wait until their 3rd birthday to begin.
- Additional Requirement: Eligibility for the Subsidized Childcare Program is required.
4-Year-Old Pre-Kindergarten (PK4):
- Birthdate Range: September 2, 2020 – September 1, 2021
- Additional Requirement: Eligibility for the Subsidized Childcare Program is required.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK):
- Birthdate Range: September 2, 2020 – September 1, 2021
Kindergarten:
- Birthdate Range: September 2, 2019 – September 1, 2020

- STEP 2 - Schedule an appointment at the Enrollment Center to complete your enrollment
