Miki R. Inbody

The Superintendent coordinates the total educational program and provides leadership in its development and improvement.  The Superintendent is responsible for the management of the schools as authorized by Board Policy.  Feel free to contact us for information regarding implementation of the School Board's policies and procedures.

Miki Rene Inbody is a distinguished K–12 education leader with 35 years of service and a lifelong passion for student success. She is a proud product of the Fontana Unified School District. Ms. Inbody began her educational journey as a Head Start student and continued through the district’s elementary, middle, and high schools. She is now serving as the Superintendent of the district that raised and shaped her.

Ms. Inbody’s educational path began at Chaffey College and continued at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), where she earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and administrative services credential. She began her career in Fontana Unified as a teacher, dean, assistant principal, and principal before rising to cabinet-level roles in both Redlands and Fontana Unified School Districts, and later as an Assistant Superintendent with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, supporting 33 districts countywide.

As Superintendent, Ms. Inbody leads with a vision that prioritizes preparing students for life after graduation. Whether that means being securely employed, proudly enlisted, enrolled in college, or all three. Under her leadership, Fontana Unified has developed one of the region’s most comprehensive Career Technical Education programs, offering 56 industry-aligned pathways. The district partners with leading organizations in fields such as aviation, construction, health science, arts, and business, while expanding dual enrollment opportunities that allow students to earn college credit and certifications while still in high school. These efforts are building a pipeline of graduates who are workforce-ready and empowered to lead in high-demand, high-wage fields.

Ms. Inbody is a 2024 “Superintendent to Watch” award recipient from Schools Superintendents Association (AASA) and CALSPRA who recognized her for her innovative leadership. She was recently invited to serve on a statewide panel focused on closing the achievement gap in California, underscoring her commitment to excellence and equity. She is a recent Hall of Fame Inductee for CSUSB. She received the Superintendent of the Year award from Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 12 and the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA). She actively participates in state and national education networks through her involvement in ACSA, AASA, CALSA, the CA Association for Asian/Pacific Leaders in Education (CAAPLE), and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). Locally, she serves as a Board Member for Santa Claus Inc. San Bernardino.

With deep roots and an unwavering belief in the potential of every student, Ms. Inbody leads Fontana Unified with courage, purpose, and a steadfast commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
