District Parent Engagement Committees

Fontana Unified School District is committed to fostering strong partnerships with parents and guardians through our parent engagement committees, which provide valuable opportunities for collaboration and input. We encourage and welcome parents to actively participate in shaping programs and initiatives that support positive outcomes for students. Together, these committees strengthen our collective mission to support student success.

If you are interested in joining any of the committees listed below, please contact us at (909)357-5000.

FUSD Parent Advisory Committee (FUSD PAC)

The Superintendent meets with representatives from PTA/PTO, School Site Council (SSC), English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), and the African American Parent Advisory Committee (AAPAC).  The meetings allow parents to receive updates, learn about new programs, and provide input regarding the LCAP and issues that impact the district.

FUSD Superintendent Student Advisory Committee (FUSD DSSAC)

The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee is designed to engage students by offering student voices and opinions on matters of interest.  DSSAC will provide students with perspectives and share what issues are important to them.  The Superintendent, Cabinet, Student Board Member, and student representatives from each high school lead the committee.

District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC)

DELAC comprises representatives from each school’s English Learner Advisory Committee, a school-based committee required if there are more than 21 English Learners at that school.  The Committee’s role is to advise the district on programs and services for English Learner students.

District African American Parent Advisory Council (DAAPAC)

The FUSD DAAPAC is comprised of the parents, guardians, caregivers, staff, and community members of students who identify as African American or Black. The council will provide parents of African-American/Black students with information, programs, event planning, and opportunities to review the effectiveness of instructional programs in the district.

FUSD/SELPA Community Advisory Committee (FUSD CAC)

The FUSD Community Advisory Committee (FUSD CAC) is designed to be a dynamic, collaborative partnership of parents, educators, pupils and adults with disabilities, representatives of public and private agencies, and people concerned with the needs of students with disabilities.  Every Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) is required to establish a CAC.  The CAC is a forum for active parent involvement in special education programs within the Fontana Unified School District.

FUSD Early Education Parent Advisory Committee (FUSD EEPAC)

The FUSD Early Education Parent Advisory Committee (FUSD EEPAC) provides local leadership opportunities to parents and guardians of children enrolled in an FUSD Early Learning Program.  THE EEPAC has an advisory board and holds five (5) meetings each school year.  FUSD EEPAC meetings share topics of interest and programs pertinent to Early Learning and School Readiness.  Representatives from each school site share information with other parents enrolled in an early education program.
