Mr. Tim McCaffrey, Principal

Hey Hey Hey!  My journey of becoming an educator was not something I had in mind growing up.  As a matter of fact I remember telling myself the one job I didn’t want to do is become a teacher.  Like many kids I grew up thinking I was going to be a police officer or a doctor.  When I started my first year of college at California State University San Bernardino I was a declared accounting major for no other reason than to make the big bucks.  In my second quarter at CSUSB I had a gnarly vision that change my life.  From that point on I viewed my life as a gift to give to others and what better way to give back than to become a teacher.  I loved it!  I felt like I came alive when I was with my students and pouring life into them.  I found my calling.  I knew why I was created…to help kids discover their purpose and pursue that relentlessly.

I’m a Fontana guy; I grew up in Fontana graduating from Fontana High School (FOHI).  I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at CSUSB (that was tough…real talk) and began teaching mathematics at FOHI.  It was so rad to teach alongside the teachers I had as a student myself.  I earned a master’s degree in Education along with my teaching credential at Azusa Pacific University (APU).  I thought I would be a little nerdy and keep going to school and earn a master’s degree in Education Leadership and earn my Administrative Credential.  I continued teaching at Fontana Middle School and at Jurupa Hills High School.

#WeRise   #WeAreRelentless

I cannot think of a better way to live my life than to positively impact kids’ lives.  I am so honored to serve the students and parents of my community. It is my dream to build a school where students can thrive and find their purpose. I want my students to have unique and relevant learning experiences that will set them apart from the rest. I am Mr. McCaffrey the humbled and proud Principal of Almond Elementary and we choose to live with intention and purpose each day.
