Mrs. Lorena Michel-Jasso, Principal

Mrs. Michel was born in San Bernardino and is a proud product of the Fontana Unified School District. “I attended Locust Elementary, Alder Middle school and graduated from A.B Miller High School."

She then continued her education and graduated from the University of California, Riverside (UCR) earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Students with an emphasis in Spanish; Teacher Credential and Masters in Education from UCR. Then, completed her Administrative Credential and Masters in Educational Administration from Cal State San Bernardino.

“I have been in education for about eighteen years. Of these years I have taught Kinder through Fifth grades and served as an Instructional Academic Coach. I was hired in 2016 to be part of the Fontana Unified School district as Assistant Principal for Cypress Elementary. I am excited for this new opportunity to continue working with our students, staff and Cypress community as their Principal. I look forward to continuing our legacy of keeping our students on the Road to Success.”

Mr. James Marshall, Assistant Principal

Mr. Marshall was born in Long Beach and attended schools in that area. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science and a minor in Religious Studies from Whittier College. He later pursued a teaching credential in Special Education and eventually earned a Masters in Education Administration from Hope International University.

“I have worked in Education for thirteen years as a Special Education teacher and administrator. As a teacher I have taught at the Elementary, Middle School, and High School levels and supported students with diverse needs in a variety of settings. I joined Fontana Unified as a Special Education teacher at Jurupa Hills High School and taught there for three years. I am excited for my new adventure at Cypress Elementary and to be able to help support the students, staff, and community in any ways I can.”
