Interpreter-Translator Pathway

  • Students who successfully complete the course learn the basic skills needed to become translators and interpreters at various organizations.  Fontana Adult School provides a certificate of completion for those who meet the requirements of the pathway. 

    To earn a certificate of completion, you will need the following:

    1. Interpreter/Translator
    2. Pass BSPA Test
    3. Work Experience
    4. At least one of the following:
    • Office Occupations
    • Computer Business Applications
    • Paraprofessional (Teaching Assistant)

    Interpreters and translators are in high demand.  According to Collegegrad.com (2019), employment is projected to increase by 19% in the next 10 years.  Work can be found in the following fields:

    Science

    Professional

    Technical

    Education

    Federal government

    State and local government

    Self-employment

    Medical and hospital
