During each monthly Board of Education meeting, time is allotted for recognition of students, staff, business partners, and schools that bring honor to the Fontana Unified School District and further its mission to improve the quality of education. There were several recognized at the Board Meeting on January 15, 2020.
Briana Biswas, a 8th grader at Almeria Middle School, was selected to lead the Board of Education in the Pledge of Allegiance.
"Briana enjoys her academics, leadership opportunities and peers. She has served as a proud member of our Renaissance and ASB classes the past two years. Briana is a very determined young lady. When she met Principal Bente as a 5th grader at Hemlock Elementary, she informed Ms. Bente that someday she would be the ASB president at Almeria Middle School. She currently serves Almeria in that role. Briana has a 4.0 grade point average and her dream college to attend is Harvard where she hopes to major in medicine. Her goal is to someday become a cardiologist. With her strong work ethic and the love and support of her family, we have no doubt that she will continue to meet and reach her goals.," said Superintendent Randal S. Bassett.
Fontana Unified School District was honored with a Bronze Workplace Health Solutions Award by the American Heart Association (AHA) for the District’s dedication to promoting wellness in the workplace in 2019-20.
