Fontana Unified Alumnus Makes Dean’s List at Johns Hopkins University
FONTANA, CA – Henry J. Kaiser High School alumnus Jashandeep Lobana has landed on the fall 2019 Dean’s List of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University.
Lobana came to Fontana Unified as an English learner at age 3. He went on to become Kaiser High School’s Class of 2019 co-valedictorian, Fontana Unified’s 2019 student board member, a Gates Scholar and an Edison International Scholar.
Both scholarships are helping Lobana fund his studies in neuroscience as a pre-med student. He hopes to pursue a career in neurosurgery – a path inspired by his grandmother, who survived a brain hemorrhage and began to lose her memory.
“This inspired me to become curious about the brain and how it functions,” Lobana said. “I’d love to pursue a pathway in neuroscience and psychology to learn more about the brain, but also to find ways to help people like my grandmother.”
