On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon, the Steelers Girls Cross Country team grabbed a share of their first league title since 2014. Following the first two league mmets, both the Boys and Girls tams sat in second place behind Bloomington. The Girls saved their best performance for the right time as they edged Bloomington by one point. This put them in a tie for first place, and the right to call themselves Sunkist League Champions.

Michele Barajas took the overall win and MVP patch. Cindy Rubio-Carrillo, Ruby Garcia, Linda Reyes-Suarez, and Ruby Osuna also took home all-league patches.

The Boys came up short in their bid to calim their third straight title. The young squad just didn't have the experience to match a strong Bloomington squad. However, three boys still made the all-league squad: Oswaldo Vazquez (Fohi's top finisher), Luis Chon, and Jordan Cooper.

The Boys and Girls teams will be competing on Friday, November 15 at teh CIFSS Prelims. According to the CIF, their heats should take place around 10:00am at teh Riverside Cross Country COurse (formerly Riverside Golf Club).
