2019 Volleyball Season Review

The 2019 version of Fohi Volleyball took on the challenge of a strengthened scheudle with a young, inexperienced team. Some key early injuries didn't help in the win column, but they did force some varsity rookies into the fire and forged a formidable retuurning core for next season. Once Sunkist League play came around, we got healthy, but faced a much improved group. Traditional rival Summit managed to take first place, and we were left in a three-way tie for second place at 6-4 with Kaiser and Grand Terrace. After several tie-breaker procedures left us all still tied, an unfortunate coin-toss left us as the "4th place" finisher on paper. Sadly, that ended our string of 11 straight playoff appearances.

With the departures of Seniors Lea Aldana, Crystal Munoz, Natalie Palomares, and Elizabeth Galvez, the returning squad will be looking to get back into the mix in the newly revamped Arrowhead Athletic Conference that starts in the 2020-21 school year. Returning standouts like Belen Solis, Yeida Diaz, and Victoria Vasquez will be joined by several others that earned a ton of experience this year. No doubt they will step up to carry on our successful Volleyball tradition.
