Football wins Sunkist League Opener
After a bye week, Steelers Football took on an old foe from the Citrus Belt Legaue days in our Sunkist League opener. The Class of 1969 picked a great contest to take in on their pre-reunion night. Colton opened the scoring to take an early lead, but the Steelers came back to take a lead in the 2nd half. A late rally by Colton looked like it might leave the Steelers disappointed in front of the Class of 1969. However, a late touchdown pass from Calvin Burnach to Josh Roman put Fohi up for good 24-20. For good measure, the game ended on a strip-sack by Patrick Muller.
The victory was only Fohi's 2nd of the season, but it sets them up to make a run at a league playoff spot with four games left to play. Next week the Steelers go to Kaiser HS to take on the #1 ranked Cats. It'll take all the pride, heart, and effort we can muster to put a scare into Kaiser.
